New Hope plans free community dinner

New Hope United Methodist Church, located at 2846 Seneca St., will host a free community dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19.

St. John’s to host pasta bake dinner

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and Preschool will offer a community meal from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the church, 3512 Clinton St. The meal will be a pasta bake and will include bread, salad, drinks and dessert. The meal is free, but free will donations are welcome.

Intro to fly fishing adult course set

The Lake Erie Chapter of Fly Fishers International will hold “Introduction to Fly Fishing,” a course for adults, Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at West Seneca East Middle School, 1445 Center Road. Classes start Jan. 30 and run through March 13, covering the basics of fly fishing — set up, knots, casting and fly tying. All materials for the course will be supplied by the instructor.
